  • Place your GT205+ tank on a level surface.
  • The GT205 is ready moulded to house our Auto Top Up System. Attach the gland supplied in the kit to the GT205+ tank and thread the supply tube through the gland. The supply tube now needs to be fed through the bush valve and attached to the float valve.
  • Fill the GT205+ tank with water up to the maximum nutrient level indicator in the tank. If you have the time we recommend letting the water sit for 24 hours, this will allow the water to rise to room temperature and chlorine to escape if you're using tap water. The float valve will now maintain the nutrient solution.
  • Place the GT205+ tray onto the tank with the access at the same end as the nutrient level indicators.







  • Your GT205+ comes supplied with spreader mat, this helps to spread the nutrient solution across the whole of the channel. Cut the spreader into two lengths to cover the tray.
  • The pump fixes into the base of the tank and the suckers on its base secure it in place. The delivery tube then fits through the small hole in the tray to deliver the nutrient solution direct to where the plants roots will grow.
















  • Fill the header tank with nutrient solution. The strength of nutrient solution in the header tank should always be 1/2 the strength of the nutrient solution used in the GT205 tank. This is because as the plant takes up water and nutrient at different stages, the nutrient strength increases slightly so the solution held in the ATU helps to dilute it and become a balanced nutrient solution again.
  • Now's the time to run the pump to test and wet out the spreader mat ready for your plants.

The key to successfully growing a plant using an NFT system is to make sure your propagation block is extremely well rooted. Leaving your plants to propagate that little bit longer ensures they are well rooted and with plenty of white roots showing on the outside of the block. This will give your plant plenty of access to oxygen and gives them the best possible start.

The plant is now in place in the pre-cut holes in the top plate. The small cover on the propagation block helps to protect it during this crucial period. We now use CubeCaps as they are purpose made for this job.

The roots of the plants have continued to make excellent progress.

This is the beginning of the famous NFT root mat, which will be proof that NFT gets more results than conventional growing!

It is important to observe the roots regularly as a healthy root system is key to successful growing in plants. Our NFT systems make monitoring your plants progress extremely easy.

Less than a month has gone by and we have seen fantastic growth from the tomatoes. At the moment the Black Cherry variety is the fastest growing plant.

The tomato plants have now grown so much that we've begun to layer them on stands. This helps us to grow the plants for longer, helps maximise headroom and saves space in our greenhouse to grow more plants!

You can also see a large amount of fruits now appearing on the plant.

Most importantly we have had our first ripe fruit. This is on our Cristal plant, which is a large standard variety.

The plants have now grown 360 degrees around the system and are now approximately 25ft in length.

Perfection! A nicely ripening truss of fruit. NFT is so simple, yet it pro- duces incredible results.

It's the final week for our GT205 NFT system. We're taking it down to make way for new plants in the demonstration greenhouse. The past few months have been incredibly productive and has high- lighted the benefits of using NFT for hydro growing. The systems are incredibly simple to set up and maintain and you can expect at least 3 to 4 times the yield that you get with soil!
